PITTSBURGH, PA — Power management company Eaton today announced it was selected as a winner of the 2015 U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Supplier Diversity Award. The USPS annual supplier awards program honors companies nominated by postal professionals who have direct knowledge of outstanding performance and commitment to diversity. Eaton was one of 10 companies recognized for its commitment to diversity and accepted the award at a recent ceremony held at the USPS headquarters in Washington, D.C.
“During fiscal year 2015, the Postal Service spent over $12.5 billion for transportation, supplies, services, facilities, and equipment with a supplier base that included over 20,000 suppliers,” said Megan J. Brennan, postmaster general, CEO, USPS. “Our suppliers should take a great deal of pride knowing the important role they played in helping to keep our Postal Service the best in the world.”
The award recognizes suppliers for their efforts to increase the use, exposure, and development of a diverse supplier base. Eaton provides electrical switchgear preventative maintenance and repair services to Postal Service locations nationwide.
“Eaton proudly accepts the U.S. Postal Service Supplier Diversity Award, which highlights our commitment to establishing and maintaining a strong and competitive supplier base,” said Jim McGill, Electrical Sector Americas Region president at Eaton. “Our goal is not only to embrace diversity in the communities we support, but also to be a model of how diversity fuels growth and success. We’re honored to be recognized by postal professionals for our efforts.”
