PEACHTREE CITY, GA — Power management company Eaton continued its commitment to the communities where its employees live and work by contributing $22,250 to the Midwest Food Bank (MFB) Georgia Division. The donation was made by Eaton’s Cooper Lighting Division, and it will help purchase food and supplies for families in Peachtree City and surrounding communities, supporting 29 counties in three states.
“Eaton employees have been a big part of our volunteer growth this year and they have dedicated their time to support our mission of making a difference in our communities by seeking to alleviate hunger and poverty, as well as give volunteers an opportunity to support those in need,” said Will Garner, executive director, Midwest Food Bank Georgia Division. “We are grateful for the monetary donation and the time Eaton volunteers have given, which includes more than 180 hours so far this year.”
In addition to the donation from the Eaton Charitable Fund, employees will volunteer their time throughout the year to help prepare food packages for distribution and participate in an annual food drive for the MFB pantry. The Georgia Division currently provides over 16,000 cases of food monthly to 91 different non-profit agencies, reaching over 67,000 people in a 250-mile radius from Peachtree City. The Eaton Charitable Fund actively supports programs that improve the quality of life in communities where the company operates.
“Providing assistance to our neighboring communities during difficult times is especially important to us,” said Mark Eubank, president, Eaton’s Cooper Lighting Division. “We are thankful for the role that the MFB serves in our community and proud to support its mission.”
As a faith based organization, it is the mission of Midwest Food Bank (MFB) to alleviate hunger and poverty by gathering and distributing food donations to not-for-profits and disaster relief sites at no cost to the recipients. The goal of MFB is to make a difference in its communities and create volunteer opportunities for all. For additional information, visit www.midwestfoodbank.org.
